Sen. Duckworth Speaks About Importance of Respecting & Listening to Sexual Assault Victims

We’ve learned in the military that many victims of sexual trauma do not feel safe to report what happened if they are unable to do it anonymously without fear of retaliation. Any effort to attack Dr. Ford’s credibility because she initially wanted to maintain her privacy and stay out of the spotlight must be condemned. Sexual assault remains one of the most under-reported crimes in our country. We must respect and listen to victims of sexual trauma when they come forward.
