In Taiwan, Duckworth Celebrates New Biden Administration Effort to Strengthen Economic Ties

 

[TAIPEI, TAIWAN] — During an official visit to Taipei focused on strengthening economic ties this week, U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth celebrated the Biden Administration’s newly-announced effort to increase and strengthen our nation’s trade relationship with Taiwan. After discussing the new efforts with Taiwan Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua, Duckworth issued the following statement:

“I was so proud to represent the United States in Taiwan as we announced this important effort to strengthen and expand economic ties between our people,” Duckworth said. “It was an honor to be able to discuss this effort with Economic Minister Wang this morning and to reiterate that Taiwan is a vitally important partner to the United States. I look forward to the benefits of us working more closely together in the years ahead.”
