Duckworth Statement on the Passing of Former VA Secretary & Friend Max Cleland

[WASHINGTON, DC] – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL), a combat Veteran and former Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), issued the following statement after the passing of former VA Secretary, U.S. Senator of Georgia and her friend, Max Cleland:

“Max Cleland was a dear friend, dedicated public servant and fierce advocate for our Veterans who never left any stone unturned to ensure those who served were cared for, including creating Vet Centers to help provide access to the services we need where we needed them. My heart goes out to his family and loved ones on this sad, sad day. We will miss him dearly.”
