Duckworth Meets with Federal Highway Administration Nominee Paul Trombino
[WASHINGTON, DC] - U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) met with Paul Trombino, the President's nominee to be the Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), this week. As a member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, Duckworth will participate in Mr. Trombino's anticipated confirmation hearing on October 5. A photograph of the meeting is available here.
"I spoke with Mr. Trombino about our nation's roads and highways to ensure that they remain safe and reliable through infrastructure investments that create good-paying jobs in Illinois," Duckworth said. "The Federal Highway Administration is integral to our economy and improving the quality of life for commuters. It's important to have the right person at the helm."
FHWA provides stewardship over the construction, maintenance and preservation of the Nation's highways, bridges and tunnels. FHWA also conducts research and provides technical assistance to state and local agencies in an effort to improve safety, mobility, and livability, and to encourage innovation.
