Duckworth Meets with Congressman-Elect Casten
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) hosted Congressman-elect Sean Casten (D-IL-6) in her Senate office today, where the two discussed how they can work together to support Illinoisans in the next Congress. Representative-elect Casten was elected earlier this month to represent Illinois’s 6th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives. “I’m excited to have Sean Casten as a partner in Congress and look forward to working together to help hardworking Illinois families, lower the costs of healthcare and address the devastating impacts of climate change,” said Senator Duckworth. “This past week, we received yet another reminder about the urgent need to take action to combat the effects of climate change. I know we will be better off with representatives like Sean who will take on this critical challenge and work hard every day on our country’s behalf in the halls of Congress.”
Duckworth served for two terms in the House of Representatives before being electing to the Senate in 2016. She met with Congresswoman-elect Lauren Underwood (D-IL-14) earlier this month and will meet with Jesus ‘Chuy’ Garcia (D-IL-4) this afternoon.
