Duckworth Meets with Black Women in Infrastructure to Discuss Infrastructure Priorities

[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) today met with members of Black Women in Infrastructure (BWI) to discuss infrastructure priorities and how to help ensure projects and investments are equitable. Duckworth, a member of the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, also discussed BWI’s priorities for President Biden’s American Jobs Plan.

To truly ‘Build Back Better,’ we must do more to ensure equitable investments in infrastructure and job creation,” Duckworth said. “Federal infrastructure investments are critical to the wellbeing of our communities and businesses, they support good-paying jobs and can help protect our water as well as the environment. I enjoyed discussing these priorities and learning more from Black Women in Infrastructure today.”
