Duckworth, Durbin Announce Nearly $200,000 for Clay County Hospital
[WASHINGTON, D.C.] – U.S. Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Dick Durbin (D-IL) today announced a $191,052 federal grant to the City of Flora from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant Program. This funding will help Clay County Hospital retain operating room jobs and purchase imaging technology and a laparoscopic camera system for the operating room.
“Federal investments like this help rural communities like Flora improve infrastructure and create economic opportunities for the region,” Duckworth said. “I will continue working with Senator Durbin to help make sure hardworking Illinoisans throughout our state receive the federal support they deserve.”
“Like many rural hospitals throughout our state, Clay County Hospital is both an important access point to health care and an anchor of the local economy,” Durbin said. “I’m pleased the City of Flora was awarded this federal funding to support Clay County Hospital. I will continue working with Senator Duckworth to ensure that our state's rural communities have access to federal investments that drive economic growth.”
