Congressionally Directed Spending Requests - Fiscal Year 2024
Congressionally Directed Spending (CDS) is a program that enables Members of Congress to request direct funding for projects that benefit the communities they represent. Senator Duckworth worked with an Independent Review Board to examine and evaluate projects focused on building infrastructure, stimulating economic development and providing essential services for Illinois communities. This page will be updated on a rolling basis.
In compliance with Senate Rule XLIV and Committee Requirement, Senator Duckworth has certified that she, her spouse and her immediate family have no financial interest in any of the projects requested below.
Following the Independent Review Board's examination, Senator Duckworth has requested federal funding for the following Illinois projects:

Project Purpose: This project would construct interceptor sewers by modifying existing pump stations and force mains to increase the reliability of sewer service, reduce backups and overflows, reduce maintenance costs and enhance compliance with the Clean Water Act.
